本人與研究團隊進行亞卓市「全民學校」網路社群研究計畫也引起國際社會的重視及肯定而給予實質的經費贊助，最初為網路開課競賽卓越網路教師的獎金而向科技廠商等募款，本人為此募款目的而撰寫英文版的亞卓市「全民學校」網上開課的意義與精神，該企劃書在美國花旗銀行總部參加來自世界各國企劃書的公開競賽，最後亞卓市「全民學校」獲得美國花旗銀行最高獎金美金十萬元贊助，且連續兩年達美金二十萬（約台幣6,400,000元），執行國內研究計畫猶能獲得國外資金支持，這是非常難能可貴的情形，由此可見該網路社群進行網路開課教學被高度的認同與肯定。

本人已同意擔任明年在日本廣島舉行的ICCE2007 Program co-chair外，在過去五年內也曾擔任GCCCE2006 (Global Chinese Conference on Computers in Educati on, hosted by Tsing Hua University, Beijing, China)學術研討會的Program co-chair及八次受邀請至國際學術研討會擔任資訊通訊科技數位學習及學習科技等領域的keynote及invited talks，及場次如下：

應『數位學習國家型科技計畫』邀請參訪美國(Stanford University, Stanford Research International (SRI), Berkeley University, HP Lab, Michigan University and National Science Foundation, Washington, D.C.)及歐盟(法、德、瑞士及瑞典)（10/29～11/16/2003）

自1999年十二月起擔任Asia Pacific Chapter (APC) of AACE (Association for the Advancement of Computers in Education) 的 Executive Committee member。(Member of Executive Committee, Asia-Pacific Chapter, Association for the Advancement of Computers in Education (AACE-APC) since 1999 to present)

籌辦ICCE/ICCAI2000: International Conference on Computers in Education & International Conference on Computer in Education (國際電腦教育應用學術研討會暨國際電腦輔助教學學術研討會)，是亞太地區最重要的電腦網路在教育應用學術會議。擔任議程主席(Program Co-chair), 該會於2000年11月21-24日,在台北圓山飯店舉行。會議論文約為360篇，與會學者教師共500多人，來自30個國家。捐大會盈餘款130萬給清大教務處作為改善本校教學設備專款。

入選為中華經濟研究院與李國鼎科技發展基全會合辦之「人文與科技」兩岸青年學者論壇，台灣學者代表（兩岸代表各十二人，本人為台灣清大之代表），會中發表論文，題目:資訊網路時代大學社群與社會互動的新模式: 以清蔚園知識園區為例。會期:05.04-05.05.1999

曾參與開創清蔚園知識園區之規劃與研究。清蔚園於1997.05.14.成立，最初之兩年期間即已獲十多個獎項，例如，教育部頒贈的最佳終身學習網站等，發展至今已是台灣地區內容最多元豐富的華文網站，其知識園區的理念受到肯定

應邀訪問新加坡教育部及教育科技署，參觀有關電腦多媒體網路教學軟硬體設施。與新加坡教育部主管及中國大陸學者三地代表共十二人座談網路教育推行政策，並參與當地中學教師推行電腦網路教學座談會，12. 2-6, 1997
